About the programme.
A professional accounting degree covering financial and management accounting, auditing, and Nigerian taxation, preparing graduates for careers in accountancy, audit, tax, and finance and for professional examinations such as ICAN and ACCA.

Learning outcomes
What you'll be able to do.
Graduates leave equipped with the foundational rigour and the practical skills the field demands.
- Prepare and interpret financial statements. Compile, analyse, and interpret financial statements in line with IFRS and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
- Manage taxation. Compute corporate and personal tax liabilities and apply current Nigerian tax law to real filing scenarios.
- Apply management accounting. Use costing, budgeting, and variance analysis to support managerial decision-making.
- Audit and assure. Plan and execute audit procedures, evaluate internal controls, and report on financial integrity.
- Use accounting technology. Operate modern accounting and ERP software and apply data tools to financial reporting and analysis.
- Uphold professional ethics. Apply the ethical standards of the accounting profession to questions of disclosure, independence, and accountability.

Practical & professional skills
Computational tax and audit exercises, case studies, and accounting-software practicals build job-ready and professional-examination skills.
External examiners
In line with NUC requirements, qualified academics from other universities moderate examinations and assess final-year projects.
