What you'll be able to do.
Graduates leave equipped with the foundational rigour and the practical skills the field demands.
- Perform diagnostic tests. Conduct laboratory investigations across haematology, microbiology, chemistry, and immunology.
- Analyse specimens. Collect, process, and analyse clinical specimens accurately and safely.
- Interpret laboratory results. Relate test results to disease processes and support clinical diagnosis.
- Assure quality and safety. Apply quality control, biosafety, and laboratory accreditation standards.
- Operate laboratory technology. Use and maintain modern diagnostic instruments and information systems.
- Practise professionally. Apply the ethics and regulations governing medical laboratory practice.

Clinical & laboratory placements
Supervised laboratory placements and competency assessments confirm diagnostic readiness.
External examiners
In line with NUC requirements, qualified academics from other universities moderate examinations and assess final-year projects.
