The Governor of Lagos State,
Honourable Commissioners and Special Advisers
Your Royal Highnesses
Permanent Secretaries
Other Distinguished Guests
Distinguished Members of the Fourth Estate
Representatives of the Caleb University Community
Ladies and Gentlemen

On behalf of the Proprietor, Chairman, Board of Trustees and Members, Pro-Chancellor and Members of Council, Management, Senate, Staff and Students of Caleb University, it is my utmost pleasure, to welcome you to the idyllic environment of our beautiful Campus, where dreams are fulfilled, where learning is a treasure and pleasure, and godly character a promise delivered.

We are especially delighted to have in our midst the Governor of Lagos State. It is a historical moment which our late Chancellor and former Military Governor of Lagos State, Brigadier Mobolaji Johnson, would have been so delighted to witness, seeing one of his successors, visit an institution which he actively supported its building, and rise to what our University has become today.

Caleb University, the first private university to offer undergraduate degree in Lagos State, was licensed in 2007 and commenced academic activities on January 21, 2008. Since then, we have grown remarkably to become a destination of choice for discerning parents and students seeking rounded quality education in a most conducive environment.

That Caleb University was selected as most suitable for this epochal launch of the UAVs, within the frame of the Lagos Enterprise GIS Upgrade and Integrated Land Administration and Automation System (the “Lagos Egis Project”), is testimony to unfolding history, as we represent the hope which must be restored to education in our great country.

Two days ago, an enthusiastic audience of Caleb University students and staff participated, when Adeniyi Oyebade, of the Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology, made a presentation on “GIS as an Effective Technological Tool in Quality Decision Making and Good Governance”.

The dividend of this launch is already being enjoyed by this great citadel of learning and excellence. A lot more is being programmed to happen to this collaboration after this event, because as an institution, our key motivation as we mainstream, is best practice, and ensuring a blend of human resource and technology value addition.

We congratulate the Lagos State Government, its Ministry of Science and Technology, Asseco Software Ltd and the Polish team, and otherstakeholders, on this laudable project.

Our Governor, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, we welcome you once again to Caleb University, the place where dreams are fulfilled.

God bless Caleb University
