Our Mandate & Core Functions

The Caleb University Library serves as the primary academic support unit for the university. Our core functions include:

  • Resource Curation: Developing, acquiring, and managing a comprehensive collection of books, journals, databases, and multimedia materials relevant to all academic programs.
  • Information Literacy: Equipping students and staff with the skills to effectively find, evaluate, and use information through training sessions and one-on-one support.
  • Research Support: Providing specialized services to aid academic research, including reference management, database searching, and support for postgraduate students and faculty.
  • Access & Discovery: Maintaining and optimizing library systems (like the OPAC) to ensure easy discovery and access to all local and global library resources.
  • Learning Spaces Management: Providing and managing a variety of learning environments, including silent study areas, collaborative zones, and group discussion rooms.

We pride ourselves on a rich and diverse collection to support your academic pursuits:

  • Physical Collections: A vast collection of textbooks, reference materials, journals, and special collections across all faculties.
  • E-Library: 24/7 access to a world of digital information, including:
    • E-Books and E-Journals
    • Academic Databases (e.g., JSTOR, ScienceDirect, etc.)
    • Past Examination Papers & Theses
    • Online Newspapers and Magazines
  • Special Collections: Hosting unique archives, including Caleb University publications and other rare materials.

Services for Students & Faculty

  • Library Orientation & Tours: Get acquainted with our resources and services at the start of each session.
  • Research Assistance: Expert help from subject-specialist librarians for your projects and assignments.
  • Reference Management Support: Guidance on using tools like Mendeley, Zotero, and EndNote.
  • Inter-Library Loan (ILL): Access to materials not available in our library from partner institutions.
  • Document Delivery: Provision of scans of journal articles and book chapters from our physical collection.
  • Wi-Fi and Computer Access: Fully equipped computer zones and seamless internet connectivity throughout the library.

Library Hours:

  • Semester Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM | Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Vacation Hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
