The nexus between politics and economy is intricate and inseparable in every state of the global community. While the former is the superstructure with overarching influence and the kernel determinant of the latter, the reverse effects of the economy on the survival and sustainability of the political system, however, underscore their intertwined relationship. This premise foregrounds the concatenation of the centre for political issues and economic thoughts with dual purposes of addressing and interrogating evolving community, national and international challenges in these areas to articulate feasible or realistic paths out of the woods.
Given the above, the University establishes the centre as one of the strategic mediums of adding value to society in the twenty-first century, leveraging town and gown experiences. As well, the centre is poised to make significant inputs and impacts in the advancement of the evolving political economy of the global environment.
