Admission requirements

Admission to 100 Level

Admission shall normally be by entrance examination organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). To be eligible for admission candidates.
(WASC), NECO or its equivalent in:

English Language
Mathematics
Physics

And any two from:
Geography
Chemistry
Building Construction,
Land Surveying
Technical Drawing
Economics

UTME subjects:

English Language
Mathematics
Physics
Chemistry

Direct Entry to 200 Level

Candidates for direct entry to 200 Level should have OND with at least lower  credit in Building, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or HSC, GCE A/L in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.  Such candidate must in addition satisfy conditions in 3.3.1 (i) & 3.3.2 (ii).
Candidates may be expected to make up for any deficiency in their background which have been rectified if they had been admitted to 100 Level.
 

Direct Entry to 300 Level

Holders of HND in Building, Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying may be considered for admission to 300 Level. Candidates must in addition satisfy condition in 3.3.1(i) & 3.3.2 (ii).
Candidates with OND or HND qualifications may be required to undergo a selection process since only limited number in this category may be offered admission.
 

Transfer cases

From other Departments or Institutions on good grounds can be admitted to appropriate level of the programme provided that any deficiency in their background is made up.
 

Duration of Degree Programme:

i.    Five years for students admitted to 100 Level
ii.    Four years for student admitted with OND, GCE HSC A/L or
iii.   Three years for students admitted with HND
 

Graduation Requirements

The academic content of the programme has been designed to provide a strong practical and theoretical training for the graduates.  To qualify for a B.Sc. degree in Building, a student must pass the required credit units specified as follows:

i.    194 minimum units for the 5-year programme
ii.    153 minimum units for the 4-year programme
iii.    112 minimum units for the 3-year programme
