The Motto: “For God and Humanity”
Adjudging by the history of the proposed university, the motto reaffirms the premise that the University will be underpinned by two solid principles:
1. The Fear of God;
2. Service to Humanity
A university built with the fear of God at its heart, will adopt such practices that is based on the upliftment of standards and achievement of academic excellence rather than the pursuit of financial gains, which can be to the detriment of its students.
Through the fear of God, such University will deliver what it has proclaimed, publicized or promoted in attracting scholars to it. It will eradicate the prospect of admitting students under false pretence or fictitious facilities. By being God-fearing, it will distance itself from corrupt or other practices that constitute the plague of modern society.
Recruitment of staff and students will be done in a manner that is transparent, under the belief that God sees all.
In upholding its founding principle of service to humanity, the University shall focus on the development of mankind through the development of skills, knowledge and expertise that will benefit industries and positively impact on the society at large.
It will promote the upliftment of basic human values in a manner that facilitates the absence of anti-social behaviours such as cultism, “sorting”, plagiarism, drug abuse, examination malpractices, and general acts of indiscipline, thereby producing good citizens that respect other human beings and societal values.
In summary, the motto For God and Humanity emphasizes the importance the University attaches to the critical role of godly training in producing academically sound graduates.
